Nelson Mandela Metro High Performance Hubs

  • Judo Hub

The Judo Hub is based at the NMMU High HP Center situated at Nelson Mandela Metro University in Port Elizabeth.

A total of 5 players aged between 20-27 forms part of the Hub.

The Players have individual Coaches .

Mr Mtunzi Mapitiza is the Hub coordinator.

Players train 3 times per week at NMMU HP Center Gym under the supervision of ECAS Sport Scientist.

  • EP Kings u21 Rugby Hub

The  EP Kings u21 Rugby Hub is based at the NMMU High Performance Center situated at Nelson Mandela Metro University in Port Elizabeth.

Kings u21 is a feeder program for the Kings rugby team. ECAS assists with payment for services such as players transport, accommodation, meals and life skills training etc.

A total of 44 players  forms part of the Hub.

Mr Robbi Kempston is the Manager of the program and the  Hub coordinator.

Player train 5 times per week at NMMU HP Centre Gym under the supervision of EP Rugby Biokineticist.

  • Women’s Rugby Hub

The Women’s Rugby Hub is based at the NMMU High HP Center situated at Nelson Mandela Metro University in Port Elizabeth.

A total of 2 players  forms part of the Hub.

The Players are coached by the EP Rugby Coaches.

Players train 3 times per week at NMMU HP Center Gym under the supervision of ECAS Sport Scientist.

  • EP Cricket Academy Hub

The EP Cricket Academy  is based at the NMMU High Performance Center situated at Nelson Mandela Metro University in Port Elizabeth.

The Eastern Province Cricket Academy is running an extensive player development program from annually. Part of our program is to ensure that the cricketers receive high quality coaching and overall support in the following areas: Sport Science, Life skills, Gymnasium training, etc.

A total of 15 players  forms part of the Hub.

Mr Piet Botha is the Manager and Coach of the EP Cricket Academy.

The group of Player train 2 times per week at NMMU HP Centre Gym.
