Usain Bolt (19.55 – fastest time of the year) has done it again, winning his fourth consecutive world 200m title ahead of Justin Gatlin (19.74) to seal the 100-200m double in Beijing.

The South African Anaso Jobodwana was third in 19.87, (a new national record) to clinch the Bronze medal in the men’s 200m final.

At the ECAS office in Port Elizabeth staff and athletes watched the race on TV in the ECAS gym and boardroom. (See picture below) The main focus was on the soft spoken Anaso Jobodwana (born in King Williamstown on 30 JULY 1992) who was drawn in the lane next to Bolt. It is true that race favorite Usain Bolt won the race ahead of rival Justin Gatlin, but for us it was all eyes on Jobodwane who clocked a magnificent 19.87 seconds, setting a new South African record for the 200m, beating the mark of 19.94 seconds previously held by Wayde van Niekerk.

Well done Anaso, we truly enjoyed watching your world class performance. We look forward to your next visit and thanks for the inspiration for the many SA fans
